About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Clinical Informatics Specialist. The role involves providing system support to physicians and support staff, including retraining, problem identification, and workflow review. The specialist will also be responsible for building supporting documents, analyzing workflows for automation, and managing the testing and implementation plan for EHR upgrades. Maintaining the EHR system, including record updates and overall system functionality, is a key responsibility. The work environment is a cubicle workspace requiring multi-tasking, extreme accuracy, and attention to detail. The ability to interpret data, create data from multiple sources, and use computer and phone systems is necessary. The role may involve sitting for long periods, traveling to other locations to support users, and using a keyboard, mouse, and phone system.

Requirements

• High school graduate.
• Computer experience.
• Epic EHR or comparable EHR experience required.
• Use of MS Office tools.
• One year experience in an Ambulatory setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Two-year degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Clinical Informatics Director/Assistant Director
• Provides system support to physicians and support staff to include: retraining, problem identification and work flow review.
• Provides physician training.
• Builds supporting documents from specs and outlines provided by physicians/clinical staff following departmental standards and guidelines.
• Analyzes workflow and determines the best methods for automating the office processes.
• Responsible for the testing and implementation plan for all upgrades related to the EHR.
• Assists with application and integrated system testing.
• Maintains the EHR system related to record updates and overall system functionality.
