The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) is seeking a highly qualified professional to serve as the Clinical Director of Informatics. This position supports the provision of behavioral health treatment by ensuring consistent adoption, enhancement, and utilization of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in its 12 state facilities, in order to maximize efficiency, improve healthcare delivery, and increase safety. This position is responsible for developing systemic policies and procedures to support electronic health record optimization related to adoption, implementation, regulatory compliance, safety, documentation, training, workflows, and quality expectations including a robust reporting strategy and data analysis. This position develops data driven initiatives to support change management, enhance engagement, productivity, and service excellence by exploring new technologies or seeking improvements in current EHR functionality and technology; provides guidance for facility EHR Informaticists in the implementation and monitoring of EHR utilization; and develops systemic recommendations to address regulatory survey and audit findings regarding EHR documentation and reporting. This position also oversees and directs an effective EHR Governance process to support evidence-based decision making; ensures internal and external stakeholder collaboration in review of workflow processes and enhancement requests to meet the needs of the facility system in a collegial and consistent manner; and serves as primary point of contact for all clinical enhancement requests from state facilities.
