About The Position
Broughton Hospital is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Nurse Supervisor III – Clinical Informatics Director to lead the intersection of nursing practice, technology, data, and patient care. This is more than an information-systems role, it is an opportunity to help shape how clinicians work, how information moves throughout the organization, and how technology can support safer, more efficient, and higher-quality care. As the Clinical Informatics Director, you will provide strategic leadership for clinical informatics while supervising departmental staff and directing core operations. You will play a key role in the development, optimization, and adoption of the electronic health record (EHR) and clinical information systems, ensuring technology supports clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and the needs of the people who use it every day. Technology is transforming healthcare and your leadership will help make that transformation work for clinicians and the patients they serve. You will serve as a critical connection between clinical practice and technology, translating real-world workflow needs into meaningful system improvements. From leading implementation and optimization initiatives to developing training strategies and guiding change management, you will help create systems that make clinical work more connected, consistent, and effective. You will also represent Broughton Hospital in informatics governance and interdisciplinary workgroups, helping drive standardization, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organization.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
- Four years of nursing experience, including two years of experience in a Nurse Supervisor capacity.
Nice To Haves
- Strong knowledge of clinical informatics, psychiatric and medical nursing, clinical workflows, and healthcare regulations.
- Proficiency with EHRs and clinical technologies, with the ability to lead system planning, optimization, and implementation.
- Skilled at translating clinical needs into practical technology solutions and using data to drive meaningful improvements.
- Proven ability to supervise staff, lead informatics initiatives, develop training, and build effective interdisciplinary partnerships.
- Experience as a Clinical Informatics Specialist or in a related role, supported by strong communication, workflow analysis, and project-management skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire departmental staff while overseeing daily work activities, priorities, and operations.
- Participate in the planning, development, implementation, and optimization of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Clinical Information Systems (CIS).
- Evaluate and maintain clinical information systems to ensure they support safe, efficient, effective, and compliant clinical practice.
- Serve as a proactive resource for system users by providing education, training, coaching, and ongoing support.
