About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Clinical Informaticist to join their team supporting the Indian Health Service (IHS) Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program. This role involves modernizing the EHR platform to improve data access, patient experience, and quality of care for American Indians and Alaska Natives across 500+ facilities. The Clinical Informaticist will provide clinical support to the client, acting as an expert in integrating information technology in healthcare, representing clinical interests to IT leadership, analyzing workflows, and serving as a subject matter expert in nursing and ancillary fields.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting medium to large IT projects.
  • Knowledge of Indian Health Services workflows.
  • Extensive knowledge of Oracle Health platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Specific knowledge of inpatient nursing, ancillary, and rehab workflows.
  • Proficiency with clinical decision support tools, workflow automation, and clinical documentation tools.
  • Experience working in clinical informatics or a clinical setting with health IT experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and synthesize technical and clinical information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage nursing teams and leadership effectively.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an expert role model in promoting the understanding, integration, and application of information technology in healthcare settings.
  • Represents clinical interests in partnerships with clinical, operational, and IT leadership to translate clinical needs into information system needs.
  • Provides workflow analysis, project implementation, and operational support to customer.
  • Serves as subject matter expert within inpatient nursing and ancillary fields and corporate partners to establish and disseminate best practices for integrated technologies.
  • Identifies highest-value opportunities to proposed solutions to clinical workflow and operational barriers, based on data and observation.
