About The Position

The Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry is seeking to fill two full-time, 100% FTE academic professional track (non-tenure) faculty positions with an 11-month appointment, starting Fall 2026 or negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the titles of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor, with the rank determined by qualifications. The department is a recognized leader in the field. The role involves clinical coordination, supervision of patient care, instruction in pre-doctoral courses, evidence-based teaching, simulation and laboratory instruction, direct clinical instruction and mentorship, student evaluation and support, and departmental engagement. The opportunity for extramural private practice is available. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree (e.g., BDS) from a U.S. or recognized dental school.
  • Eligibility for dental licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Experience in all fields of general dentistry.
  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Strong background in clinical practice.
  • Familiarity with current dental technologies.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate clinical activities and supervise patient care to ensure excellence in service delivery and adherence to institutional standards.
  • Serve as instructor and/or course director for pre-doctoral courses, contributing to curriculum design and implementation.
  • Develop and deliver lectures that are grounded in current scientific evidence and best practices in dentistry.
  • Teach in simulation clinics and laboratory settings, supporting students in developing foundational clinical competencies.
  • Provide direct clinical instruction and mentorship during patient care, guiding students through procedures and decision-making.
  • Assess students’ professionalism, clinical progress, and performance; offer regular academic and career counseling to foster growth and success.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives, including committee service, faculty meetings, and collaborative academic activities.
