About The Position

The Clinical Fellow, Speech-Language Pathologist will build and carry a target caseload of 22 billable hours per week and will receive a minimum of 4 hours of direct supervision and support per week from a licensed, ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist. This role involves providing evaluation and treatment services for pediatric clients across a range of communication disorders, conducting comprehensive speech-language evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based intervention strategies. The fellow will also provide caregiver coaching, collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, and complete timely and accurate clinical documentation. Active participation in weekly direct supervision sessions and completion of all ASHA Clinical Fellowship requirements are essential, along with accepting and applying constructive feedback and engaging in ongoing self-reflection and professional development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program.
  • Eligibility for state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (provisional/temporary license acceptable to begin the CFY).
  • ASHA membership and completion of all academic and clinical clock hour requirements for CFY eligibility.
  • Exposure to augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or early intervention populations.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and culturally responsive clinical practice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with pediatric clients and their families.

  • Practicum experience in a pediatric outpatient or school-based setting, strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation and treatment services for pediatric clients across a range of communication disorders, including but not limited to articulation/phonology, language (receptive/expressive), fluency, voice, and social communication.
  • Maintain a caseload of up to 22 billable hours of direct client contact per week.
  • Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and family-centered goals.
  • Implement evidence-based intervention strategies appropriate to the age, diagnosis, and individual needs of each client.
  • Provide caregiver coaching and family education to promote generalization of skills across home and community environments.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including occupational therapists, physical therapists, educators, and physicians, as appropriate.
  • Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including evaluation reports, daily progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with clinic and payer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of billable services and comply with all billing and coding procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education opportunities as assigned.
  • Actively participate in weekly direct supervision sessions (4 hours per week) with an assigned ASHA-certified CF Mentor/Supervisor.
  • Complete all ASHA Clinical Fellowship requirements in accordance with the current ASHA CFY guidelines, including submission of required documentation at designated CF milestones.
  • Accept and apply constructive feedback provided during supervision to develop clinical competence and professional judgment.
  • Engage in ongoing self-reflection and professional development throughout the fellowship year.
