About The Position

The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Pediatric Rheumatologist for an exciting, newly created role. This position offers appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The faculty member will join the Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology at UVA, focusing on the care of children with complex rheumatologic conditions in both ambulatory clinics and inpatient consult services at UVA Children’s Hospital. A significant aspect of this role involves medical education, including teaching and mentoring medical students, pediatric residents, and adult rheumatology fellows. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Eligible for appointment to the University of Virginia faculty.
  • Board certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Rheumatology.
  • Minimum of three years of post-training clinical experience in an academic setting are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the care of children with complex rheumatologic conditions across both ambulatory clinics and inpatient consult service at UVA Children’s Hospital.
  • Meaningful engagement in medical education through the teaching and mentorship of medical students, pediatric residents, and adult rheumatology fellows.
  • Shaping and expanding a growing pediatric rheumatology program.
