Clinical Nurse Educators (CNE) combine clinical expertise and a passion for teaching in the clinical and classroom setting. CNEs design, implement, evaluate and revise in-services, continuing education, and orientation programs as they pertain to the nursing department. CNEs serve as role models and mentors to clinical staff, providing leadership and support.
Requirements
- Current NY State license as a Registered Nurse required.
- BSN required.
- Masters in Nursing or enrolled in Master's program required.
- Certification in area of expertise
- Must have knowledge of hospital policy and procedures
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of adult learning principles required.
- Current BLS and ACLS required.
- Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point required
- Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced team environment
- Requires sound critical thinking skills
- Must be flexible with time assignment and accommodate the needs of the department.
