About The Position

This role consolidates clinical education, competency verification, and quality improvement functions, which are often handled by separate individuals in other organizations. The Clinical Education & Quality Manager is responsible for designing and delivering training, verifying clinician competence, auditing field performance against protocols and standards of care, and using findings to revise curriculum and protocols. The role spans all license levels, from EMT to Critical Care Transport RN. While a leadership position, it requires active patient care, field preceptorship, and staffing a CCT unit when needed, emphasizing credibility earned at the bedside. The position can be held by a Registered Nurse or a Critical Care Paramedic, with identical authority and salary range.

  • Pathway A — Registered Nurse: Current, unrestricted Washington State RN license, or eligibility for licensure by endorsement before start date.
  • Pathway A — Registered Nurse: BSN, or an ADN plus a bachelor's in a related field, or active commitment to BSN completion within 24 months of hire.
  • Pathway A — Registered Nurse: Three+ years of critical care nursing in ICU, ED, or equivalent high-acuity setting, including at least one year in critical care transport (ground or air).

  • Pathway B — Critical Care Paramedic: Associate's degree required.
  • Pathway B — Critical Care Paramedic: Five+ years as a certified paramedic, including three+ years in critical care or specialty care transport.
  • Required of all candidates: Two+ years in clinical education, training officer, preceptor, or clinical QI work — or three+ years directly supervising clinical staff.
  • Required of all candidates: Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • Required of all candidates: NRP and TNCC, TCAR, or equivalent trauma certification within six months of hire.
  • Required of all candidates: ICS-100 and ICS-200 within 90 days of hire.
