About The Position

The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking a Clinical Director to join the team at our Community Adolescent Treatment Program (CATP) located in Springfield, MA.  The Clinical Director will support adolescents who are committed to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Youth Services, (DYS). CATP helps young men, aged 12 to 21, make a successful transition back to their home community. The clinical team provides youth with numerous intensive services such as individual and family therapy, life skills and anger management groups, substance abuse treatment, and lead in the development of a strengths-based treatment plan and safety plan. Your role as a Clinical Director: The Clinical Director will oversee the gathering of all relevant historical information (including communicating with current/previous provider of physical/mental health/educational services), have the Clinicians present the cases to the Clinical team and create an effective treatment plan for the youth. Strategies to be utilized will include and are not limited to Occupational Therapy techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Recreational Therapy, as well as psycho-pharmacological interventions. They will also collaborate with the CHD Clinical Directors of the Children and Families Division and DYS Regional Clinical Coordinator regarding strategic interventions being utilized within the program. The Clinical Director will directly supervise the two clinicians working within the program. S/he will be on a weekly on-call rotation, participate in weekly meetings, embrace other duties as assigned, and provide a strengths-based clinical foundation for the program. It is essential that the Clinical Director embrace working with the residential and educational components of the program and see all components as part of the treatment team. This position is a salaried position; no third party billable hours are required.

Requirements

  • Must be a Masters Level, Licensed Clinician.
  • Independently licensed practitioner (LICSW/LMHC).
  • At least three years of clinical experience working with similar populations providing community based social and mental health services.
  • Ability to establish a positive rapport with a culturally and economically diverse group of families and to deliver services within the established framework and clinical model.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to work in strength’s based manner with families, funders, licensing source and community resources for youth in the program.
