Houses of Hope is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and mission-driven Clinical Director to lead and oversee clinical services within our halfway house programming. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed care to individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health conditions. The Clinical Director provides administrative and clinical oversight of program operations, supervises clinical staff, ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and helps foster a safe, welcoming, and trauma-informed environment for clients and staff. This position collaborates closely with funders, community partners, referral agencies, and organizational leadership to strengthen program effectiveness and client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, human services, social work, or related field
  • Current Nebraska licensure as a: Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) or Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP)
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health, substance use treatment, trauma-informed care, and co-occurring disorders
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and computer systems

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) preferred
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience preferred
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience with Medicaid and insurance processes preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to licensed clinical staff and direct care personnel
  • Oversee clinical programming including assessments, treatment planning, counseling services, educational programming, and discharge planning
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies, HIPAA regulations, Medicaid/insurance requirements, and CARF standards
  • Lead staff trainings, performance evaluations, and professional development initiatives
  • Assist with recruitment, hiring, and retention of direct care staff
  • Collaborate with leadership on program development, budgeting, and quality improvement activities
  • Maintain positive working relationships with community partners, referral sources, and funding agencies
  • Provide direct clinical services to dually diagnosed clients as needed
  • Ensure quality documentation and effective use of the electronic health record
  • Monitor key performance indicators and prepare monthly and quarterly reports
  • Promote client rights, safety, and a trauma-informed culture throughout the program
