About The Position

The Clinical Director is responsible for the strategic leadership, oversight, and performance of all clinical services within the Community Living division. This role ensures that services are clinically sound, operationally integrated, data-driven, and aligned with BHA’s core values and regulatory requirements. The Clinical Director is accountable for the quality, consistency, and outcomes of clinical programming, including the implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), Individual Support Plans (ISPs), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based interventions across all residential settings. This role operates as both a clinical leader and operational partner, working in close collaboration with operations, nursing, and executive leadership to ensure that individuals served receive safe, effective, and meaningful supports that improve quality of life. The Clinical Director is responsible for building and maintaining a high-performing clinical team, ensuring fidelity of implementation, and driving continuous improvement through data, training, and accountability systems.

Requirements

• Master's or Doctoral degree in ABA, Psychology, Special Education, or related field
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker required
• Active state licensure (MO and/or KS as applicable)
• Minimum 5 years ABA experience, with at least 3 years in leadership
• Completion of BACB 8-hour supervision training
• Strong clinical leadership and team development skills
• Expertise in ABA, BSP development, and behavior reduction strategies
• Ability to analyze and act on clinical and operational data
• High accountability and ownership mindset
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines (operations, nursing, compliance)

• Ensure fidelity of ABA-based interventions across all homes
• Monitor clinical outcomes and adjust programming based on data
• Review and approve assessments, treatment plans, and documentation
• Lead response and review of clinical incidents and behavioral escalations
• Participate in on-call rotation for crisis support
• Develop and implement clinical quality assurance systems
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
• Monitor key clinical performance indicators and outcomes
• Identify trends and implement corrective actions
• Ensure readiness for audits, surveys, and regulatory reviews
• Supervise and mentor clinical team members
• Ensure supervision requirements (BACB/licensure) are met
• Develop and implement training programs for clinical and direct care staff
• Evaluate staff performance and provide ongoing coaching
• Promote a culture of accountability, learning, and growth
• Ensure efficient use of clinical resources and staffing
• Monitor utilization, productivity, and service delivery metrics
• Collaborate with finance and billing teams to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support cost-effective service delivery without compromising quality
• Serve as clinical point of contact for families and stakeholders
• Participate in intake and admission decisions
• Collaborate with external providers, agencies, and partners
• Advocate for individuals served and ensure appropriate services
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide decisive leadership during crises.
