About The Position

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is a mission-driven Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality behavioral health services to individuals across Macon and DeWitt counties. The Clinical Director, Community Supports provides clinical and operational leadership across a portfolio of community-based housing and recovery programs that form a critical pillar of our CCBHC continuum. This role is responsible for clinical integrity, regulatory compliance, staff development, and programmatic excellence across six distinct service lines. The Clinical Director partners closely with senior leadership and community partners to drive innovation, promote recovery-oriented practices, and ensure access to high-quality, person-centered community care.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field
  • Active licensure (or license-eligible within 6 months): LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or equivalent Illinois clinical license
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in community behavioral health, including 3+ years in a supervisory or management role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CCBHC standards, Medicaid behavioral health services, and/or SAMHSA evidence-based practices
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and leading multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, community-based environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and data analysis skills
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with the following program models: ACT, IPS Supported Employment, First Episode Psychosis, or Peer-Run Drop-In Centers
  • Experience with CARF accreditation processes
  • Familiarity with Illinois Medicaid, Illinois behavioral health contracts (formerly DMH/SUPR) and CCBHC programming
  • Experience integrating lived experience and peer support into service delivery
  • Training or certification in trauma-informed care, IMR, or other SAMHSA evidence-based frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision and oversight to Program Managers and team members across all community housing programs
  • Lead staff development and training with an emphasis on trauma-informed care, person-centered care, whole-person care, and illness management and recovery
  • Support assessment, treatment planning, counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and care coordination
  • Provide clinical consultation, reflective supervision, and professional development opportunities to program leaders
  • Cultivate an organizational culture grounded in trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and person-centered values
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for all assigned programs, ensuring alignment with CCBHC standards, agency mission, and best practices in community behavioral health
  • Lead program development, expansion, and quality improvement efforts in coordination with clinical and senior leadership
  • Represent the agency with external stakeholders including state agencies, funders, and community partners
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with funding requirements across multiple funding streams (Medicaid, grants, county contracts)
  • Monitor program productivity, utilization, and billing compliance in partnership with finance and compliance teams
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) across all programs
  • Ensure all programs operate in compliance with state licensure, CCBHC certification requirements, Medicaid regulations, and CARF accreditation standards
  • Lead or coordinate fidelity reviews for ACT, IPS, and Community Support programs
  • Analyze data and outcomes to inform program improvements and support performance reporting to funders and leadership
  • Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate a diverse team of program managers, supervisors, and direct service staff
