About The Position

This position gives you the opportunity to support patients by shaping their nutritional care plans at Clarks Summit State Hospital. You help maintain high standards of care while working closely with both medical staff and dietary teams. Your contributions play an important role in improving patient outcomes. This position focuses on organizing and delivering nutritional care for patients, including those who require specialized diets. It involves planning menus, assessing patient needs, and supporting departmental goals to ensure high-quality nutritional services.

Requirements

• Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or proof of eligibility for such certification.
• Meet the PA residency requirement.
• Be able to perform essential job functions.
• Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Complete nutritional assessments by gathering medical and dietary information and document patient progress
• Participate in treatment team meetings to recommend appropriate nutritional plans and share updates with staff
• Plan, evaluate, and adjust menus while ensuring diet calculations follow accepted nutritional standards
• Maintain and update the patient diet database to ensure accuracy and timely changes
• Provide direction to dietetic staff to support consistent and accurate nutritional care
• Contribute to performance improvement efforts and assist in reviewing departmental policies
