About The Position

UPMC Corporate is hiring a Clinical Curriculum and Practice Specialist to join our team! The position will work Monday through Friday typically during the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position will work a hybrid schedule with monthly requirements to be onsite at Forbes Tower or closest UPMC hospital, as well as other UPMC sites as needed. This position can be in Pittsburgh or near another UPMC hospital. The Clinical Curriculum and Practice Specialist has the authority, responsibility, and accountability for delivery of clinical care curriculum throughout the UPMC system. In collaboration with the health care team, the Clinical Curriculum and Practice Specialist serves as an expert for clinical staff and other disciplines in the area of specialty by maintaining partnerships within the system to develop clinical education curriculum and service line implementation. Requirements

  • MSN or Master's in related field required
  • Three years of clinical experience
  • two years of relevant clinical specialty experience required
  • Registered Nurse or other clinical licensed professional UPMC Approved Certification
  • Act 34

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate preferred
  • RN experience preferred
  • General Nursing practice or Medical Surgical background preferred
  • PowerApps, PowerBi, Microsoft products including Viva Engage, Loop, OneNote, Adobe experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a resource to clinical staff, faculty, students and other health care personnel in the acquisition of knowledge and skills related to patient care within specialty/population
  • Conveys information and ideas clearly through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message. Role models professional communication and encourages free exchange of ideas that serves as a catalyst for transformation.
  • Identifies clinical practice gaps and partners with multidisciplinary teams to develop evidence-based care models and education, using data to improve outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Collaborates closely with system-level teams including service lines, Quality, Learning & Development and Human Resources, to support coordinated, enterprise-wide service delivery
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to review and align policies, clinical guidelines, content, and workflow resources that support patient care and organizational readiness
  • Analyzes and disseminates current medical and nursing literature for utilization in the expansion and improvement of patient care outcomes.
  • Provides system-wide mentorship to employees and students in professional development, evidence-based practice, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Supports post-graduate projects aligned with organizational priorities and advances dissemination of best practices through presentations, publications, and improvement efforts
  • Demonstrates fiscal stewardship by evaluating education vendors and educational equipment requests to identify cost-effective opportunities and ensure system-wide alignment.
