About The Position

The Clinical Coordinator performs a variety of patient care activities, many in assistance to physicians. They are primarily responsible for all nursing procedures, operation, and care of the unit. This role coordinates the responsibilities of all personnel to facilitate smooth daily operation of the clinic. The Clinical Coordinator assists in compiling/indexing data, maintains a current inventory of equipment and supplies, and manages the general functions of the front office, including appointments, scheduling, answering phones, registration, preauthorization/pre-certification, timekeeping, and the prescription refill line. They ensure staff complies with clinic standards and policies. The role may occasionally involve cross-coverage or assuming additional responsibilities on a limited basis.

Requirements

  • Ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day.
  • Ability to assist patients in turning.
  • Ability to assist patients in arising from exam tables.
  • Ability to push wheelchair patients.
  • Ability to assist patients in arising from and returning to a wheelchair.
  • Visual acuity.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal training, likely indicated by graduation from an accredited school of nursing or medical assistant program.
  • Current state licensure/certification.
  • Maintenance of continuing education requirements.
  • Experience in patient assessment and monitoring skills.
  • ACLS and/or CPR certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work compatibly with patients, physicians, and other staff members.
  • Detail-oriented.
