Our general surgery staff consists of expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and technicians all dedicated to performing successful operations and promoting comfortable healing and recovery. Our most common surgical services consist of endo, ortho, and pain procedures. Due to the high volume of outpatient procedures, our surgery staff do not work weekends or holidays. The facility includes 7 Pre/Op Infusion Rooms, 2 OR Suites, 1 Endo Suite, and 1 PACU Bay.

Requirements

  • Current state RN license
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • 1-2 years minimum experience as a Surgery RN- must be experienced in circulation, PreOp, PACU & Infusion
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years critical care experience preferred
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Handle with Care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting delivery of clinical services and patient flow.
  • Perform quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of QA/QI initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource to staff and external contacts regarding clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor departmental compliance with accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission requirements.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provide quality patient care and work other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
