About The Position

The Clinical Contracts & Budgets Specialist supports clinical contracting and budgeting across multiple clinical programs. The role works with clinical study teams, Clinical Finance, CROs, vendors, legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders to identify service providers, negotiate contracts and budgets, manage contractual obligations, and support clinical trial financial processes. The position also supports site budget development, patient reimbursement parameters, purchasing requests, and contract lifecycle activities. The role is a 12-month contract. Post-secondary education in a related discipline is expected, with relevant education and applicable job experience considered in combination. The position calls for 3–5 years of related experience in a high-growth biotech or pharmaceutical company, with global experience considered an asset. Requirements

Post-secondary education in a related discipline; a combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.
3–5 years of related experience in a high-growth biotech or pharmaceutical company.
Understanding of clinical trials and clinical operations.
Ability to negotiate external provider work and change orders, clinical site budgets, and related items, and track them for Clinical Operations.
Understanding of clinical site and vendor budgets and payment terms.
Experience in RFI/RFP development, proposal evaluation, and contract and budget management.
Excellent organization and time-management skills, strong attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
Good business judgment and a strong understanding of the unique aspects of clinical financials.
High sense of accountability and urgency.

Responsibilities

Participate in global CRO and vendor identification and contract negotiations.
Support the development of clinical contractual agreements, budgets, and proposals, and manage clinical contractual obligations with Clinical Finance and clinical study teams.
Negotiate final scopes of work, budgets, and payment schedules with input from cross-functional stakeholders for clinical study service providers.
Negotiate and document change orders and ensure service providers adhere to contract terms.
Generate RFIs, RFPs, budget grids, and trackers for clinical trials.
Assist Clinical Operations with service provider selection and bid comparison analysis, working with Clinical Finance.
Coordinate bid defenses, proposal review meetings, and contract lifecycle management.
Assist Clinical Operations and Finance with month-end accrual and budget/forecasting needs, including reporting site-level and study-level cost-per-patient data.
Support the global Clinical team in creating and overseeing global clinical trial site budgets.
Collaborate with CROs to develop and negotiate study site budgets.
Create purchase requests and modify purchase orders.
Coordinate with CTMs and CRAs on patient reimbursement parameters and participate in approval of reimbursement requests as needed.
Serve as the primary Clinical contact with Zymeworks legal, finance, cross-departmental teams, and CROs to manage clinical site contracts and budgets across multiple programs.
Support day-to-day activities across multiple areas of complex clinical contracting processes.
