About The Position

The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana (RHI) is seeking a Clinical Charge Nurse for the day shift on Unit 5, supporting patients with traumatic brain injuries in its Complex Medical Unit. The nurse leads nursing operations and manages all aspects of patient care on the assigned unit during the shift. This role calls for clinical expertise in rehabilitation nursing, leadership, and a commitment to supporting patients, families, and staff through recovery. RHI describes its care as mission-driven and patient-centered, with collaborative interdisciplinary teams and opportunities for operational influence and improvement in medication safety and patient outcomes. The role works Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Requirements

At least three years of experience as an RN or in a related position.
Current Indiana State Board of Nursing licensure and registration.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Interest in rehabilitation nursing, demonstrated clinical expertise, and leadership experience.

Nice To Haves

CRRN specialty certification; CRRN is listed as preferred in the qualifications.
ACLS certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of patient care on the assigned unit during the shift.
Demonstrate expertise in complex clinical nursing skills for the rehabilitation population served.
Participate in evaluating unit-based activities and hold staff accountable for rounding, bedside handoff, use of whiteboards, and timely responses to call lights.
Mentor staff, including new orientees, and serve as a role model.
Maintain cooperative and professional relationships with members of the healthcare and program-model teams by communicating information clearly and responding openly to requests.
Focus on customer satisfaction for patients, coworkers, visitors, vendors, and physicians.
