About The Position

The Drexel University Counseling Center is seeking a full-time Clinical Care Manager to provide year-round support for students requiring longer-term or specialized treatment. This role involves coaching and skills-based training for students navigating care, following up on campus and community referrals, collaborating with campus partners who offer case management, and actively engaging with community mental health providers and agencies, including those offering free or low-cost services. The Clinical Care Manager will ensure clients' off-campus needs are met through consistent follow-up.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in Social Work (LSW), Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mental health counseling, case management, or care coordination, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Experience working with multicultural and marginalized identities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and establish relationships.
  • Ability to function within a team.
  • Ability to effectively manage students with significant mental health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides case management for students requesting or recommended for a transfer of care out of DUCC services.
  • Serves as a bridge to appropriate community resources, facilitating access and communication, and monitoring service delivery.
  • Assists with coordination of hospitalization and discharge planning, advocating for students to access care.
  • Tracks students referred to the community and communicates with them regarding continuity of care.
  • Consults with parents, faculty, and staff to ensure quality care for students.
  • Develops and maintains comprehensive knowledge of community providers and agencies to expand mental health referral networks.
  • Assists in improving internal and external referral processes.
  • Compiles, maintains, and updates referral resource information, including a database.
  • Provides follow-up contact for clients engaged in treatment with community medical providers.
  • Maintains timely client records in accordance with Counseling Center policies.
  • Provides 'bridge' services as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
