About The Position

This is a hybrid role for a Clinical Business Analyst II or Sr. DOE, requiring 3 days per week in the office at various locations including Burlington, Renton, Spokane, Vancouver, Portland, Medford, Salt Lake City, Boise, Lewiston, and Fargo. Candidates must reside within commutable distance or be willing to relocate. The role is part of the Health Services Business Optimization team, focusing on improving the healthcare system to be person-focused and economically sustainable. The Clinical Business Analyst will apply analytical skills, project management, and subject matter expertise to identify improvement opportunities, design solutions, and manage improvement efforts. This role leads business process analysis and solution design by collaborating with business, clinical, and technical subject matter experts across the organization. The goal is to solve problems and create system solutions that enhance the person-focused healthcare experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, computer science, healthcare administration or related field
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in defining and analyzing business requirements, process modeling, functional systems design or configuration and/or acceptance testing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Perform analysis of medium-to-large scale business processes including current state discovery, future state design, gap analysis, and creation of strategic recommendations.
  • Utilize formal performance improvement techniques (process mapping, business cases, problem solving).
  • Create comprehensive documentation through formal analysis techniques and develop strong testing documentation including test cases and test plans.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency with business analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
  • Skilled in using data to present information to inform strategy and decisions for senior leaders.
  • Lead analysis activities and document work through creation of project management artifacts (stakeholder diagrams, business cases, requirements management plans, project plans).
  • Facilitate data and requirements gathering activities with groups of various sizes; translate and communicate technical and complex concepts to diverse audiences across organizational lines.
  • Ability to lead small teams (3-5) for complex work efforts and able to lead cross functional groups.
  • Leads large, complex meetings including multiple levels of management and with ability to navigate complex political situations.
  • Ability to coach and train peers and leaders with constructive feedback.
  • Must have a wired internet connection that is not satellite or cellular and internet service with a minimum upload speed of 5Mb and a minimum download speed of 10 Mb.
  • Background check is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of formal methods such as Lean, Six Sigma, change management (ADKAR), and Agile software development or project management approaches.
  • Experience with AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making in professional settings highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Identify process and business improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze and create requirements for improving or replacing systems to meet user needs and achieve improved performance.
  • Collaborate with leaders to evaluate and prioritize improvement opportunities, define business requirements, and create business cases.
  • Consistently apply business analysis and process improvement methods, templates, and tools to produce high-quality deliverables on-time.
  • Participate in projects as a team member and make significant contributions to team effectiveness by improving methods, tools, and internal processes.
  • Apply analytical and quantitative approaches to problem solving by obtaining and using data including using statistics, financial analysis (ROI, NPV), and quantifying current state and future state business performance.
  • Drive process development and improvement efforts with a continuous improvement focus.
  • Document internal processes to ensure understanding by others with consideration of cross-functional change impacts.
  • Develop and present status reports to leaders, project teams, and client/customer groups.
  • Work both independently and in teams.
  • May include mentoring and coaching colleagues with less experience.
  • Provide valuable insights, coaching, and instruction to team members for performance methods, tools, creating deliverables content including documents and plans.
