Clinical Associate - Acute Care | Critical Care (Full Time, Part Time - Nights)
About The Position
This position is ideal for aspiring healthcare workers working on their pre-requisites for school, or nursing students interested in pediatric nursing. Candidates must be able to commit to two 12-hour shifts per week. The Clinical Associate supports nurses, physicians, and other hospital staff in administering holistic care to patients with various injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. This role assists with day-to-day tasks, functions in multiple capacities on the unit, and provides clerical, secretarial, and housekeeping support. The associate works collaboratively with healthcare professionals, patients, and ancillary services to ensure quality patient care.
Requirements
- Clinical work experience in a healthcare environment or completion of CNA training or EMT training or Medical Assistant training or student nurse who has completed at least one (1) quarter or semester of clinical experience.
- High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
- Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job.
- Ability to follow computer downtime procedures.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to prioritize assigned tasks and meet all expectations for the completion of assigned roles.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to consistently function in an environment that includes varying unpredictable or crises situations.
- Ability to think critically; work independently; manage multiple assignments; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Comprehensive Crisis Management Certification within 90 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- Post high school education classes related to healthcare.
- Enrolled in nursing school with completion of one (1) quarter or semester of clinical experience.
- Bilingual
- Previous hospital/mental health experience related to de-escalation and creating a safe and therapeutic environment.
