About The Position

The Orthopedic Clinical Assistant performs assigned duties within their capabilities and scope of practice. The role assists clinic providers or nurses with specified aspects of patient treatment, including emergent and primary care for patients of all ages, and maintains effective interactions with the public and hospital personnel. This is a full-time, day-shift position at the Bishop location.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Current California certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician (state or national).
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
• Compassionate, organized, collaborative, and able to communicate exceptionally well.

Responsibilities

• Take patients’ vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
• Measure patients’ height and weight and record their pain level.
• Manage patient flow in the clinic, including rooming patients and preparing them to be seen by the provider.
• Assist providers with minor surgery setup and specimen preparation.
• Complete minor lab procedures, including collecting urine and blood specimens.
• Route lab results to the correct provider.
