About The Position

The Clinical Assistant works in the Nursing Resource Pool (NRP), whose staff are deployed throughout the hospital to support areas with staffing needs and provide care across a variety of patient populations. The role provides patient care as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse, following the patient’s plan of care, unit routines, and hospital policies. It also supports designated care areas with clerical tasks and supplies and equipment, documents in the electronic medical record, and serves as a receptionist while organizing daily work around unit priorities. The position requires a consecutive full week of corporate orientation, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The position is based at Troy Hospital, a specialty and routine care center recognized for orthopedics and urological services and focused on patient satisfaction and medical advancement.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification.
• Attend the entire required consecutive week of corporate orientation, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.

• Complete position- and unit-related safety competencies and requirements on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
