About The Position

The Clinical Assistant at Monument Health provides direct and indirect patient care in a clinic setting, working collaboratively under supervision and independently. The role participates as an active member of the health care team by performing assigned tasks and activities for which the employee has received training, in accordance with Monument Health policies and procedures and the needs of patients. The position is in the Neurology and Rehab department in Rapid City, South Dakota, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification from the American Heart Association within 60 days of hire or transfer.
Ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED equivalent in General Studies.
80 hours of initial training in radiation safety, positioning, and image review.
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification from the South Dakota Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

Prepare examination and treatment areas according to clinic standards.
Complete patient rooming procedures, including vital signs, data collection, and other clinic-specific components within the outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
Assist with point-of-care laboratory testing after successful competency training.
Ensure patient record documentation is accurate, clear, and concise within the outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
Complete assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance or ordering as directed.
Assist with scheduling follow-up care as ordered or directed.
Function within the documented Monument Health Scope of Responsibilities.
In some clinic locations, assist the medical imaging department with limited x-ray exams after successful competency training.
Perform other duties as assigned.
