About The Position
The Post-Surgical Care Unit has 14 short-stay beds and specializes in surgeries such as Plastic, Urology, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Same-Day Surgery cases, Cath Lab Ablations, and short-stay cases, including inpatient holds that require an extended stay in the PACU. It is a fast-paced unit where we take pride in our teamwork and the quality of care we deliver to our patients. A new member of our team should possess strong critical thinking, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills. Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required

- Current CNA certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Clerical/manages supplies/equipment in designated care areas.
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy.
- Documents in electronic medical record.
- Acts as a receptionist and organizes daily work assignment based on unit priorities.

- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
