About The Position

The Education Department in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position in Educational Leadership to begin mid-August 2026. Subdomain focus areas may include, among others, youth and young adult development, strengths-based connections to community informal learning, inclusion and accessibility, curriculum, and student services. We are especially interested in candidates whose expertise is either based in or applicable to prominent community, cultural, economic, and educational issues in re. This Clinical Assistant Professor position's primary functions include teaching courses in support of the Education Department’s Education Doctorate (Ed.D.) program, preferably in areas related to higher education leadership; advising students in the Ed.D. program; and coordinating the Ed.D. program. The Ed.D. program at the university is a low-residency program with two 5-day residencies required over the course of the program, with the remaining coursework offered online. This practice-focused doctorate program is designed to prepare future and advancing education leaders to be highly effective strategic and evidence-based decision-makers, problem-solvers, and overall leaders. This program integrates pedagogy, theory, and applied research. The program is designed to prepare leaders for today’s dynamic environment and its associated challenges, in which leaders need to be both evidence-based and innovative, with the goal of equipping them to leverage education as a transformative social and economic engine. Requirements

The position requires: (1) A doctorate in education or a related field, defended by the position start date; (2) Experience teaching both online and in-person graduate courses in areas outlined above; (3) Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities that addresses the ways that educational outcomes relate to social, cultural, and community ecological processes and patterns

Nice To Haves

Evidence of scholarly activity, research, and publication, although not required for this position, is strongly preferred.
In teaching and advising, competitive candidates will have demonstrated expertise and leadership experience in online graduate education at the college/university level.
We seek candidates who have taught or demonstrate readiness to teach in the aforementioned methodological specialization areas as well as in content specialization areas such as educational evaluation, educational leadership and policy, education finance and business administration, human resources, school law, recruitment, retention, and postsecondary academic success across various social groups, and collective bargaining.
Especially competitive candidates will excel in teaching across disciplines and have demonstrated readiness to contribute substantial advising and program coordination at the doctoral level at the start date of the position.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include teaching two courses per semester and one of the in-person 5-day residences in the summer.
Administrative leadership and program coordination for the Ed.D. degree program are expected, as is Ed.D. student advising.
