Requirements

Inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician role.
Must be able to perform history and physical examinations of patients.
Must be able to assess patient acuity and ensure proper level of care.
Must be able to perform bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for.
Must be able to provide consultations services for specialty provider partners.
Must be able to order consultations from specialty provider partners.
Must be able to initiate contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting for continuity of care.
Must be able to work with trainees, including allied health professionals.

Responsibilities

Devote between 1% and 25% of total professional effort to scholarly activities, which may include authorship of manuscripts, participation in research studies, abstract presentations, professional blogs, and other scholarly activities.
Devote between 1% and 25% of total professional effort to teaching, which may include occasional lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship.
Perform duties as an inpatient Hospital Medicine physician on professional service: history and physical examinations of patients being admitted to the hospital; assessing the acuity of hospitalized patients and ensuring a proper level of care; bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for; consultations services for specialty provider partners; order consultations from specialty provider partners; initiating contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting in order to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
Work with trainees, which may include allied health professionals, on some months.
Adhere to clinical schedule in accordance with internal Division policy and procedures and according to actual clinical effort.
