Requirements

  • Inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician role.
  • Must be able to perform history and physical examinations of patients.
  • Must be able to assess patient acuity and ensure proper level of care.
  • Must be able to perform bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for.
  • Must be able to provide consultations services for specialty provider partners.
  • Must be able to order consultations from specialty provider partners.
  • Must be able to initiate contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting for continuity of care.
  • Must be able to work with trainees, including allied health professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Devote between 1% and 25% of total professional effort to scholarly activities, which may include authorship of manuscripts, participation in research studies, abstract presentations, professional blogs, and other scholarly activities.
  • Devote between 1% and 25% of total professional effort to teaching, which may include occasional lectures, small group and bedside teaching, preceptorship, and mentorship.
  • Perform duties as an inpatient Hospital Medicine physician on professional service: history and physical examinations of patients being admitted to the hospital; assessing the acuity of hospitalized patients and ensuring a proper level of care; bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for; consultations services for specialty provider partners; order consultations from specialty provider partners; initiating contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting in order to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
  • Work with trainees, which may include allied health professionals, on some months.
  • Adhere to clinical schedule in accordance with internal Division policy and procedures and according to actual clinical effort.
