About The Position

The University of New Hampshire School of Nursing invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position that reports directly to the Director of Nursing, in the College of Health and Human Services. This position is responsible for the education of undergraduate/graduate students which may include instruction and/or supervision of students in the clinical setting, coordination of clinical experiences, simulation laboratory instruction, classroom instruction, and on-line instruction. The primary function is to help baccalaureate and graduate students acquire the knowledge, skills, critical thinking ability, and attitudes required in professional nursing practice. This is a 12-month appointment due to the year-round nature of the Direct Entry Master in Nursing

Requirements

  • Hold a doctoral degree (DNP, EdD, PhD) in nursing or education
  • Must be eligible for a NH nursing license
  • Have 2-4 years of nursing education experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with a culturally and academically diverse student population
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, external constituents)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proven dedication to student learning
  • Advanced nursing practice certification as an Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
  • Be eligible for a NH nursing license

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver instructional material in alignment with course objectives and student outcomes.
  • Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote student learning.
  • Evaluate and document student progress and provide relevant and timely feedback to students.
  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues to develop, support and implement curriculum.
  • Actively participate in governance for the School of Nursing
  • Serve on School of Nursing, college or university committees as required.
  • Participate in evaluation of programs and accreditation activities.
  • Serve as an academic advisor to nursing students.
