About The Position

The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Oklahoma State University (OSU) College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) invites applications for a tenure- or clinical-track faculty position in equine surgery. This role involves educating the next generation of veterinarians and veterinary specialists, providing exceptional patient care, and potentially contributing to clinical research. Clinical responsibilities include mentorship and training of house officers, supervision of veterinary students, and technical staff in the examination and management of equine surgery patients. The service is supported by board-certified equine surgeons and internal medicine specialists, a theriogenology service, and a growing field service. The department is also establishing a separate after-hours large animal emergency service. Additional responsibilities include didactic teaching, contribution to clinical research (if desired, not required for career-track), and participation in extension and outreach efforts. The position may include up to four weeks of consultation work outside the referral area. An endowed Clinical Professorship is available for qualified applicants.

Requirements

  • D.V.M. or equivalent veterinary degree
  • Certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS)
  • Eligibility for faculty licensure in Oklahoma
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Candidates with credentials accepted who are sitting for the ACVS certification examination in 2027 will also be considered.
