Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing- 9 MONTH

This position is a Clinical Assistant Professor, a 9-month, non-tenure track appointment in the School of Nursing. This position will teach, advise, mentor, and evaluate students throughout the nursing program. Nursing faculty also engage in service to the university, community, and nursing profession. A small percentage of the position assists research projects and/or involved in scholarly work. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Requirements
- A master's or bachelor's degree in nursing and currently be enrolled in a master's degree in nursing program; OR A master's degree with a major in nursing, OR A doctoral degree with a major in nursing, OR A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or EdD), and a master's in nursing
- A current, unencumbered Arkansas or multi-state RN license from a compact state or the ability to obtain Arkansas licensure before position start date
- Maintain in-state residency during employment
- Ability to teach and mentor students throughout the nursing program. Teaching may include clinical, face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid formats
- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Computer literacy and experience
- Ability to travel occasionally, which may include overnight stays
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to maintain scheduled on-campus office days
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
Nice To Haves
- Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field; or current enrollment in a doctoral program
- Teaching experience
- Recent experience in nursing practice or nursing education in the area(s) of program need
- CNE Certification
Responsibilities
- Active participation in team planning, decision-making, as well as curriculum review and revision
- Demonstrate knowledge of current nursing practice and contemporary healthcare trends
- Effective integration of technology into teaching
- Demonstrate continued role development
- Development of research in the area of specialization
- Serve on committees supporting School, College, University, and/or health services organizations
- Participate in community service activities
- Teach, advise, mentor, and evaluate students throughout the nursing program
- Engage in service to the university, community, and nursing profession
- Assist research projects and/or involved in scholarly work
