About The Position

The University of Florida (UF) Department of Urology at UF Health Shands Hospital is a tertiary referral center that serves the population of north central Florida, southern Georgia and surrounding communities. The candidate would join a mature practice within the department, which has 15 additional full-time urologists who support general, endourology, oncology, female, pediatric and reconstructive urologic surgery. The University of Florida is ranked 7th in the top public schools in the nation. UF College of Medicine is one of 16 colleges within the university and these additional colleges as well as the UF Cancer Center provide an environment rich in cross departmental collaborations. Clinical. We are seeking a fellowship trained male infertility candidate with broad experience in treatments as applied to male infertility and men’s health along with general urologic conditions. We are primarily seeking candidates whose clinical focus is coverage of both office and surgical treatment of male infertility and mens healthurologic cases. The candidate would join a robust multidisciplinary team of physicians including fellowship-trained endourologist, reconstruction specialists, urologic oncologists and pediatric urologists. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to serve as a mentor and teacher for UF urology fellows, residents and medical students from UF Health Shands Hospital at the UF College of Medicine. Additional resources including an associated Andrology lab with advanced semen analysis testing, multiple ambulatory microsurgery locations, an inpatient oncofertility APP, four daVinci robotics, UroNav MRI-US fusion prostate biopsy technology, urologic oncology nurse navigator as well as eight shared mid-level providers to support the candidate’s clinical practice. Research.For those candidates with a keen interest in pursuing research as part of their academic career, the UF College of Medicine is a superb location to practice as it offers excellent intramural funding opportunities in addition to traditional government funding mechanisms. In 2018, NIH funding at the UF College of Medicine exceeded $100M. Protected time for research is available for qualified candidates who receive research funding. Mentorship from experienced faculty members will be provide for candidates without prior independent research experience and/or funding. Strong interest and participation in clinical trials is required and will be conducted in conjunction with the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute and UF Cancer Center.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a M.D. degree
  • Must be licensed in or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida
  • Must be board certified or eligible
