About The Position

The University of Florida, Department of Emergency Medicine, is seeking exceptional board-certified or board-eligible Emergency Medicine physicians to join our faculty as integral members of the department. This search will support the continued growth of our clinical services across UF Health and the State of Florida, and they offer a clear path to build your career in education, research, and clinical leadership alongside an accomplished group of colleagues. The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida-Gainesville is an independent academic department within the College of Medicine. With the substantial infrastructure and resources from the State’s Flagship University dedicated to the missions of research and education, we are committed to training medical students, residents, and fellows to become superior well-rounded clinicians that have the skills to become educators, researchers, and leaders in emergency medicine. Successful candidates will join our growing department in a non-tenure-accruing position at the rank of Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. You will become part of a group of more than 60 full-time EM faculty, 13 fellows, 42 residents, and over 200 department members supporting the expansion of clinical services in our community and across the state. The UF Department of Emergency Medicine proudly maintains an affiliation with UF Health Shands Hospital, a distinguished 1,162-bed teaching facility renowned for its Level 1 trauma center and cutting-edge burn center. As the primary referral center for North Central Florida, our institution stands as a beacon of excellence in healthcare. This affiliation underscores our commitment to top-tier medical care and innovation.

Requirements

  • All physicians must be ABEM/ABOEM Board Certified or Board-Eligible.
  • Candidates must be eligible for a medical staff appointment and clinical privileges under the UF Health Shands Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws.
