About The Position

We are currently looking to fill a Casual opportunity for a Clinical Applications Coordinator supporting our Seniors and Complex Care at Queens Park Care Centre located in New Westminster, BC. Performs information systems duties related to the day-to-day user support of assigned computer applications. Analyzes, diagnoses and resolves application problems. Performs regular system maintenance and performs system upgrades.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Computer Science plus three (3) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day user support to help desk and users with assigned computer applications; analyzes and diagnoses problems and provides resolution. Escalates issues to vendors or Health Informatics.
  • Performs regular system maintenance, including but not limited to, dictionary table maintenance, duplicate record reporting, user security settings and configuration changes.
  • Performs security administration duties such as monitoring the security of equipment and data and creating, documenting, adding, and deleting user access to assigned computer applications in accordance with established Fraser Health policies and procedures.
  • Installs, configures, upgrades, enhances and problem solves existing and new systems/applications; configures settings, executes test plans and scripts, assists in the development of application documentation; verifies programs function and are consistent with Health Informatics requirements.
  • Works with vendors to ensure service levels meet corporate standards; tests and evaluates software in order to ensure products meet current and future needs.
  • Assists users in designing, implementing and maintaining custom file systems and databases; recommends system use that enhances data quality and resolves data collection issues; responds to ad hoc and routine data reporting requests.
  • Supports on-site and remote user education within Home Health and Seniors and Complex Care upon request by performing activities such as preparing training database/test site and troubleshooting access issues. Prepares and distributes system-related communications by updating internal websites and notifying users of planned/unplanned application downtimes.
  • Prepares and submits data files mandated by relevant jurisdictions such as Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI).
  • Participates in meetings and working groups as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
