About The Position

GovCIO is hiring a Clinical AI Technical Integration Specialist to support Department of Veterans Affairs initiatives involving Ambient AI Scribe testing, technical troubleshooting, workflow validation, and operational readiness across pilot and go-live environments. The role works across technical operations, clinical workflows, and digital health innovation, including interface testing between VistA and Ambient AI Scribe solutions, real-time troubleshooting, validation of workflows against operational requirements, and coordination of technical issue escalation. This individual-contributor position supports structured testing, technical validation, and workflow assessment in controlled pilot environments. It supports pilots, field testing, workflow validation, technical troubleshooting, and analytic enablement. It does not perform production implementation, own system configuration, or conduct national deployment activities. The position is 100% remote.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical or healthcare discipline, or commensurate experience.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience supporting complex systems, testing environments, or operational technology support may be substituted.
10+ years of progressive experience supporting technical systems, healthcare technology environments, quality assurance/testing, digital health operations, or enterprise software platforms.
Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and performing root cause analysis.
Experience supporting testing activities, defect triage, validation workflows, or quality assurance processes.
Ability to analyze and distinguish product defects, configuration issues, workflow challenges, and operational impacts.
Experience partnering with engineering teams, vendors, and operational support organizations to resolve technical issues.
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex operational environments.
Ability to translate technical findings into clear documentation, recommendations, and actionable insights.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical and operational stakeholders.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience supporting healthcare technology platforms, digital health solutions, or clinical systems.
Experience working in regulated healthcare, government, or highly structured enterprise environments.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and defect management processes.
Experience supporting user acceptance testing (UAT), system validation, or production readiness activities.
Knowledge of incident management, service management, or operational support best practices.
Experience developing technical documentation, knowledge articles, process documentation, or operational procedures.

Responsibilities

Support VistA and Ambient AI Scribe interface testing across Primary Care pilot and go-live sites.
Assist in validating system interactions and technical workflows within CPRS/VistA environments.
Identify technical gaps, workflow dependencies, and operational impacts observed during testing.
Support development of standardized testing approaches aligned with business and clinical requirements.
Attend training sessions, office hours, and technical support calls to troubleshoot issues in real time.
Monitor collaboration platforms, including Teams chats and support channels, to identify and respond to emerging technical issues.
Engage directly with end users to resolve access issues, equipment challenges, and technical barriers.
Document recurring issues and technical patterns in a structured manner.
Independently work with multiple Ambient AI vendors to troubleshoot technical issues affecting providers.
Route tickets and technical findings to appropriate escalation teams, including Scribe support teams, ESD, OCTO shared services, and program leadership.
Coordinate between vendors, VA stakeholders, and technical support organizations.
Conduct workflow reviews with VA programs evaluating Ambient AI Scribe capabilities.
Document best practices, workflow considerations, and operational insights.
Support demonstrations of Ambient AI solutions to high-level VA programs exploring adoption.
Translate technical testing findings into structured recommendations.
Support testing and evaluation of peripheral equipment, such as microphones and audio hardware.
Provide technical recommendations regarding compatible equipment across supported Ambient AI tools.
Assist in establishing standardized technical readiness guidance.
