About The Position

This position is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) with a first shift schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The role involves providing direct and indirect patient care, observation, and counsel to patients and their families within the clinic setting. Responsibilities include communicating with providers and healthcare team members about patient conditions, diagnostic results, and symptomatology. The position also involves serving as a mentor and consultant to other members of the clinic nursing team, and for CMAs, includes reception duties.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses and currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa OR Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
  • Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including online training modules, employee timesheet, and performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a clinic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a caring consciousness through relationship-based care delivery and utilization of Planetree patient-centered programs/therapies to meet the holistic needs of the patient (physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, cultural, and psychological).
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of evidence-based nursing care under the supervision of a provider.
  • Recognizes and understands the legal implications within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Utilizes judgment and skill in providing direct and indirect patient care, observation, and counsel to patients and family.
  • Communicates with providers, manager, and/or other healthcare team members about changes in patients’ clinic condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
  • Provides orientation, training, and clinical development by serving as a mentor and consultant to other members of the clinic nursing team.
  • Responsible for various duties of the clinic, including reception and providing direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care (for CMA).
