About The Position

This is a 1.0 FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) position with scheduled weekly hours of 40. The shift is the 1st Shift, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The role involves providing patient care within the clinic setting, adhering to professional nursing standards and ethical codes. The position requires a caring consciousness and the utilization of Planetree patient-centered programs to meet the holistic needs of patients, including physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, cultural, and psychological aspects. The employee will be responsible and accountable for delivering evidence-based nursing care under the supervision of a provider, understanding the legal implications within the scope of practice. Communication with providers and team members regarding patient condition and diagnostic results is essential. For RNs and LPNs, there is an expectation of mentoring and providing clinical development to other nursing team members.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses OR graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa.
  • Must be currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa OR must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Iowa.
  • Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including the online training modules, the employee timesheet and the performance appraisal system. Job specific systems are also required.
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
  • Sitting – Approximately 25% of shift.
  • Standing– Approximately 25% of shift.
  • Walking – Approximately 50% of shift.
  • Lifting – Approximately 35 pounds. Must use, and require staff to use, when in hospital and pre-hospital settings, proper body mechanics and ergonomics and, as applicable, lifting/moving devices.
  • Twisting – Infrequent.
  • Bending – Moderate.
  • Squat/Kneel – Infrequent.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a clinic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a caring consciousness through relationship-based care delivery model and utilization of Planetree patient centered programs/therapies to meet the holistic needs of the patient (physical, emotional, spiritual, environmental, cultural, and psychological).
  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of evidence-based nursing care at Waverly Health Center Clinics under the supervision of a provider.
  • Recognizes and understands the legal implications within the scope of nursing practice.
  • Utilizes judgment and skill in providing direct and indirect patient care, observation, and counsel to patients and family.
  • Communicates with providers, manager, and/or other healthcare team members about changes in patients’ clinic condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
  • Provides orientation, training and clinical development by serving both as a mentor and consultant to other members of the clinic nursing team (for RNs).
  • Responsible for various duties of the clinic, including reception and providing direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care (for CMAs).
