About The Position

The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. This work stems from Mass General Brigham’s unified system strategy to bring health care closer to patients while lowering total health care costs. The Medical Group provides a wide range of offerings, including primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, and urgent care, both digitally as well as at physical locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The group also offers outpatient surgery and endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion. Clinic/Practice Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to administrative support, these Assistants serve as the gatekeepers of our practices and ensure that teams are delivering the highest quality experience, exceeding our patients' expectations.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Minimum two years medical office experience
  • Well-rounded customer service professionals who can multi-task, prioritize, and thrive in a high-volume outpatient setting
  • Positive attitudes, empathy, and genuine passion for this work

Responsibilities

  • Schedule all appointments, conduct reminder outreach, verify insurance, and obtain Prior Authorizations when needed.
  • Greet patients, answer their questions, collect co-payments, and assist with any pre-visit paperwork/forms during check-in.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments, tests, and/or procedures during check-out.
  • Field all incoming telephone calls and triage appropriately.
  • Handle in-basket messages.
  • Monitor patient flow and waiting room activity.
  • Provide general support to practice leadership, clinicians, and peers.
  • Take on special projects that align with the individual employee's interests/goals.
