About The Position
The Clinic Phlebotomist draws blood from clinic patients so tests can be performed and doctors can make diagnoses. The position floats between four outreach clinics: Necedah, New Lisbon, Elroy, and Lake Delton. It is full-time, 80 hours per pay period, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There are no weekend shifts; the schedule includes paid holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid, current driver's license that must be maintained.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Intermediate computer proficiency.
- Comprehensive phlebotomy skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory protocols.
- Self-starter with compassion, excellent interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Phlebotomy training; on-the-job training is available.
- DOT breathalyzer certification.
Responsibilities
- Send out pathology and cytology specimens, bone marrow biopsies, and fine needle aspirates.
- Perform in-house laboratory tests.
- Check laboratory orders for accuracy, confirm the physicians listed on orders, and make changes when needed.
- Perform vein draws, puncture blood collection, heel sticks, and finger pokes.
- Verify patient information and perform drug screens and breathalyzer tests when competency is completed.
- Stay updated on changes and new protocols.
- Register patients as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested.
