Clinic Medical Assistant
About The Position
The Medical Assistant prepares patients, assists the physician with procedures and minor surgeries, and performs diagnostic tests and patient education within the clinic. The role includes maintaining equipment and serving as a liaison between the physician, patients, and outside agencies, including hospitals, nursing homes, DME companies, pharmacies, HMOs, and other physician’s offices. The Medical Assistant also supports other medical staff members as needed to maintain efficient patient flow. When laboratory duties are involved, the Medical Assistant properly collects and processes blood samples to ensure accurate analysis and safe handling.
Requirements
- CPR certification is required.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required if working in the lab.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
