About The Position

CoxHealth is seeking a Clinic LPN/Medical Assistant III to join their team. This role involves both administrative and clinical duties within a primary care setting. The Medical Assistant III will handle tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry, while also measuring vital signs, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications under supervision. The LPN will perform similar administrative duties and clinical tasks, including administering medications as ordered by a physician, and performing specific competencies as directed by the department. Both roles require excellent communication and computer skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to carry out delegated tasks under supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship (for MA III)
  • Graduate of a state board accredited practical nursing program (for LPN)
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri (for LPN)
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP (for MA III)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider (for MA III)
  • Carry out delegated tasks as directed by supervisors or with provider oversite (for LPN)
  • Proficient Computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people (for MA III)
  • Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting (for MA III)
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting (for LPN)
  • IV certification in State of Missouri (for LPN)
