About The Position

Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is expanding its team to serve the needs of its community in the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri area and is excited to announce an opening for a Medical Assistant/LPN (MA/LPN) for its Camdenton Clinic. COMC is a Missouri non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years. COMC is looking for a mission-driven team member who is comfortable working with patients with diverse backgrounds. The applicant must be a motivated, self-starter able to quickly adapt to new and changing conditions while maintaining a professional demeanor. COMC offers a robust compensation and benefits package. Requirements

  • Must be CPR certified or become certified during probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment with COMC.
  • Must maintain CEUs as directed by COMC.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program.
  • Experience with an electronic health record is preferred.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge of fundamental math, adding machine, calculator, and Microsoft office.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong phone etiquette and excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of, and compliance with, HIPAA and 340B regulations is required.
  • Confidentiality of patient information is mandatory.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an electronic health record is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventative maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.
  • Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; and keeping patient information confidential.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventory stock, placing orders and verifying receipt.
  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance and calling for repairs.
  • Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, and meets attendance/punctuality requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
