About The Position

This position at the Pediatric Center involves both administrative and clinical duties. Administrative tasks include answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry into medical records. Clinical duties encompass measuring and recording vital signs, collecting patient demographics and medical information (including medication lists), preparing patients for examinations, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. The role also includes administering medications as ordered by a physician and performing other department-directed competencies. The position requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively, carry out delegated tasks under supervision, and possess proficient computer skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.
  • None (for MA experience)
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
  • Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Proficient Computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people
  • Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting
  • IV certification in State of Missouri

Responsibilities
