Clinic Assistant - Part-Time - Optometry
About The Position
Open Eyes Vision Center is seeking a reliable and compassionate Clinic Assistant to join our clinics located in Garland, McKinney, and and occasionally Mesquite. This role combines patient care with administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience. Saturdays are required. This is a part-time position, averaging 8-32 hours per week, with a great schedule for college students. Availability for at least one weekday (M-F) and Saturdays is required. Work hours are typically 9:30 am - 5:30 pm. Open availability for 3-4 days per week is also desired.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Excellent customer service, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
Nice To Haves
- Prior medical/optometry office experience preferred but not required (training provided))
Responsibilities
- Prepare exam rooms and sanitize equipment
- Escort patients, record medical history, and perform basic pre-tests (auto-refraction, tonometry, visual acuity)
- Educate patients on eye health and contact lens care
- Monitor and restock clinical supplies
- Greet and assist patients at check-in
- Schedule appointments
- Keep clinic and reception areas clean and welcoming
