About The Position

Responsible for coordinating and managing patient appointments for the PACE Program. This role involves scheduling medical visits, therapy sessions, transportation, and follow-up care while ensuring that participants receive timely and organized services. The scheduler communicates with patients, caregivers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to confirm appointments, update calendars, and handle any scheduling changes or cancellations. In addition, the position requires maintaining accurate records in scheduling systems, verifying patient information, and supporting efficient clinic operations to help provide high-quality, patient-centered care for elderly participants.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of medical scheduling, healthcare administration, or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare scheduling procedures
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and appointment coordination
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
  • Professional and compassionate customer service skills when working with elderly patients and caregivers

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in healthcare administration, medical office management, or related field
  • Previous experience working in a PACE program, senior healthcare, or geriatric care setting
  • Bilingual communication skills preferred
  • Experience coordinating transportation or multidisciplinary clinic appointments
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid guidelines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • CPR certification or other healthcare-related certifications preferred
