The Client Stabilization Specialist position is based at a shelter or temporary lodging site, primarily working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The role focuses on stabilizing new entrants, conducting intakes into HMIS, educating on rules, responsibilities, and resources, and providing overall orientation. Responsibilities also include face-to-face visits, perimeter walks, and escalating issues that impact stabilization. The specialist is responsible for communicating with leadership and Client Care Coordinators regarding program violations to ensure issues are addressed, and for reporting identified complex needs (substance use, mental health, housing, medical care) to leadership for proper service coordination. Additionally, the position involves data entry into established systems for violations, end-of-shift notes, and room checks, and identifying the need for housing prioritization assessments for all individuals.
