About The Position

The Client Services Officer (CSO) serves as a key first point of contact for Indigenous entrepreneurs and businesses seeking access to Ulnooweg's programs and services. The CSO provides client intake, pre-application guidance, application screening, marketing and outreach support, and ongoing client service while fostering strong, respectful relationships rooted in professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural awareness. The role works collaboratively within the Access to Capital team to ensure clients receive timely, responsive, and high-quality support throughout their business development journey.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Economic Development, Marketing, Community Development, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in customer service, client relations, business support, financial services, economic development, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of business planning, entrepreneurship, and small business development.
  • Understanding of Indigenous communities and economic development opportunities across Atlantic Canada.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience collecting, tracking, and reporting data.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Check
  • Valid drivers license

  • Experience working with Indigenous organizations, communities, businesses, or entrepreneurs is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for prospective and existing clients seeking information about Ulnooweg's programs and services.
  • Conduct initial client consultations to assess business readiness, eligibility, financing needs, and support requirements.
  • Participate in client engagement activities, community events, workshops, conferences, and promotional initiatives.
  • Monitor outreach and marketing performance metrics and contribute to reporting on outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Track client inquiries, application activity, service outcomes, and outreach efforts.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate records to support departmental planning, program evaluation, and decision-making.
