About The Position

Retail Insight makes data work in the real world. We’re looking for an Operations Manager (Client Delivery) to join us at Retail Insight, embedded directly within Kroger’s Store Support Office in Cincinnati. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll act as the on-the-ground operational lead for one of our most strategic clients. Sitting at the centre of the partnership, you’ll be responsible for bringing structure, pace, and accountability—ensuring initiatives don’t just get planned, but land and deliver in the real world. You’ll own day-to-day delivery, keep teams aligned, and make sure commitments on both sides translate into action. And when needed, you’ll be out in stores, validating that what’s been designed centrally is actually working in practice.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in operations, programme delivery, or client-facing roles, preferably in Kroger Ops
  • Great track record of driving execution across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Highly organised with a structured, delivery-focused mindset
  • Confident communicator, comfortable working with both executives and field teams
  • Able to operate independently in an embedded client environment
  • Familiar with delivery tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, or ClickUp
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in grocery retail (waste, availability, inventory, store ops)
  • Exposure to large-scale operational programmes
  • Experience working with or alongside other retailers
  • Background in SaaS or analytics-led delivery

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of programmes across Waste and On-Shelf Availability
  • Drive execution against plans, ensuring priorities move forward at pace
  • Identify risks and blockers early, and take action to resolve them
  • Maintain clear visibility of progress, outcomes, and dependencies
  • Set and run the operational cadence (weekly sessions, action tracking, follow-ups)
  • Keep senior stakeholders aligned, focused, and moving in the same direction
  • Ensure both Retail Insight and Kroger teams deliver on their commitments
  • Coordinate internal teams ahead of key client moments
  • Act as Retail Insight’s dedicated on-site lead (up to 5 days per week)
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across Kroger teams
  • Manage client-side dependencies and remove friction to keep delivery on track
  • Bring structure and clarity in a fast-moving, embedded environment
  • Regularly visit stores to assess how programmes are landing
  • Validate adoption, compliance, and performance at store level
  • Translate real-world observations into clear, actionable improvements
  • Support pilots, troubleshoot issues, and close execution gaps quickly
  • Deliver clear, concise updates for both client and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain visibility of performance, risks, and key milestones
  • Support quarterly business reviews and programme-level reporting
