About The Position

Nomura is a global financial services group connecting markets East & West. The NAM International division focuses on active management across various asset classes, delivering innovative solutions supported by experienced investment professionals. This role is for a Client Portfolio Manager to join successful and growing teams in Kansas City or Philadelphia. The position involves representing investment teams to clients and prospects, building the Nomura brand, and collaborating with internal teams in an evolving asset management landscape. The Client Portfolio Manager will be an active member of investment teams, developing a deep understanding of their approaches, portfolios, and views. They will demonstrate strong investment and capital markets acumen, build relationships across various departments, and enhance the appreciation of the Equity investment platform by communicating investment philosophies and processes transparently. The role supports multiple strategies, primarily domestic US equities, and involves creating presentation materials, written insights, investment commentaries, RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, market research, and competitive positioning analysis, ensuring consistent messaging. A client-first mindset and contribution to long-term business growth are essential.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience within Client Portfolio Management or other client-facing investment roles with deep knowledge of Emerging Markets, Internation/Global and Thematic strategies
  • Ability to work with multiple teams, locations and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and ability to bring projects through completion
  • Ability to present and communicate across different client types and audiences
  • Series 7 & 63 required or immediately completed

Responsibilities

  • Representing our investment teams to clients and prospects, building the Nomura brand through client engagement, collaboration with internal teams, and a proactive approach in today’s evolving asset management landscape
  • Serving as an active member of each investment team, developing a detailed understanding of multiple teams’ investment approach, portfolios, and views
  • Demonstrating strong investment and capital markets acumen, and a detailed understanding of the industry
  • Building strong relationships across investment teams, distribution, marketing, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Actively engaging with internal constituents and external clientele to enhance appreciation of the Equity investment platform, effectively communicating each team’s investment philosophy, process, insights, and expected client experience in a transparent manner
  • Supporting multiple strategies, with a primary focus on domestic US equities, and projects including presentation material, written insights, investment commentaries, RFPs/due diligence questionnaires, market research and competitive positioning analysis while ensuring consistent messaging
  • Maintaining a client-first mindset while being a key contributor to long-term business growth
