Client Partner - Financial services

Obin AINew York, NY

About The Position

Obin drives strategic growth in financial services by leading critical transformations across Insurance Advisory, Claims, Financial Planning, and the Investment Office. We are looking for a Client Partner to own an account end to end — beneath, and in partnership with, a Senior Client Partner. You will own divisional relationships, validate ROI ahead of every close, pitch and close expansion opportunities, manage renewals, and build the account playbook that turns a single engagement into a durable, growing relationship. On our largest, multi-stakeholder accounts, you'll work alongside a Senior Client Partner who owns the firmwide, C-suite relationship and provides executive air cover on the hardest deals — while you own the day-to-day divisional relationship, the account arc beneath the exec layer, and the mechanics of getting deals scoped, priced, and closed. On smaller, single-buyer accounts, you'll cover both altitudes yourself, acting as the account's primary owner end to end.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of experience, including meaningful exposure to Financial Services / Insurance.
  • Working knowledge of the insurance industry's operating model, and the business and regulatory context that shapes technology transformation there.
  • A track record carrying a quota or owning renewal/expansion targets for an enterprise account.
  • Comfortable operating at the intersection of commercial and technical conversations — able to partner directly with product, presales, and forward-deployed engineering teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Began a career in consulting or finance before transitioning into technology GTM/account roles.
  • Experience running client-facing workshops that translate ambiguous strategic goals into scoped, actionable workstreams.
  • A track record managing multi-stakeholder enterprise relationships, ideally including cross-business-unit initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with credibility in front of senior client stakeholders.
  • Excitement about operating in an early-stage environment, with room to grow into a Senior Client Partner seat as accounts and scope expand.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Account, End to End: Serve as the primary owner for one or more divisional relationships within a client (e.g., Insurance Advisory, Claims, Financial Planning, or the Investment Office), or the full account where there is a single economic buyer.
  • Target & Qualify: Build the entry hypothesis and stakeholder map for new account targets, and establish and quantify business pain in operating detail — which workflow, how many people it touches, what it costs.
  • Navigate Regulated Risk: Own progression through model risk, third-party vendor risk, InfoSec, legal, and procurement review — partnering with Presales Engineering on security and, on complex accounts, the Senior Client Partner for executive air cover.
  • Validate ROI & Shape the Deal: Validate ROI against real client data alongside Presales Engineering and the Forward Deployed PM, shaping a binding opportunity brief and SOW scope.
  • Close & Hand Off: Close commercial terms — alongside the Senior Client Partner on multi-stakeholder accounts — and ensure a clean handoff of account context to the delivery pod.
  • Own the Account Playbook: Manage renewals, pitch and close expansion opportunities, and maintain the relationship health of your divisional book.
  • Track Growth: Track realized ROI against commitments, run QBRs, and identify and pitch expansion opportunities in partnership with the Senior Client Partner.
  • Be the Internal Voice of the Client: Ensure stakeholders across product, commercial, engineering, and delivery understand client context, priorities, and stakeholder dynamics.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Presales Engineering, Forward Deployed PM/Engineering, and Obin's Industry Expert to shape and pilot new initiatives from first conversation to signed, funded engagement.
